The Induction Course for New Care Staff is for people embarking on a career in the care sector may have a limited understanding of the range of skills they are expected to acquire and develop. It is crucial that they become aware of the many challenges that providing high quality care to individuals presents.
This course provides a solid grounding in key areas and addresses the knowledge and skills required to give new carers confidence in their chosen new role.
This course prepares new members of staff for employment in any area of the care sector. It can be delivered in a number of flexible formats: block or day release. The materials and certificates provided underpin the knowledge and evidence which can be used when the carer commences their SVQ.
DAY 1 – Introduction to Health and Social Care. Including Standards, Legislation, SSSC Communication Skills
DAY 2 – Introduction to Moving & Assisting of People
DAY 3 – Personal Care, Promotion of Continence, Nutrition, Assisting with Food & Drink
DAY 4 – Adult Support and Protection. Promoting Positive Behaviour
DAY 5 – Emergency First Aid Course
