Newly Revised SSSC Codes

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has revised its Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers effective 1 May 2024. These revised Codes can be found here.

According to the SSSC, the revised Codes:

• Take a more empowering tone and use positive language
• More strongly reflect the importance of kindness, compassion and involvement in decision making
• Have a greater focus on relationships, trauma and risk enablement¹

The SSSC has provided a document setting forth the 2024 changes from the prior version of the Codes published in 2016.
