The Care Inspectorate recognises the importance of care services evaluating their performance to determine what they do well and what needs improvement. Thus, it has recently posted short videos about self-evaluation. These videos address three questions: How are we doing? How do we know? What are we going to do now? The Care Inspectorate’s website also provides a model for a structured approach to improvement. This model sets forth a framework for developing, testing and implementing changes to the way that things have been done with the aim of improvement.1
