Asbestos Awareness

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 3.5 hour course is suitable for all staff across all business sectors who may be exposed to asbestos. The course also allows employers to meet their legal duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. After the 3.5 hour course staff will:

  • Be given a history and the health implications of working with asbestos
  • Be given information on the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
  • Understand where asbestos was used in industry and the different types of asbestos
  • Understand the long term health implications of working with asbestos
  • Be given an overview of non-licensed and licensed work with asbestos and understand the difference
  • Be given information on what an employer has to do if there is asbestos in a building
  • Be given information of the correct PPE to wear when dealing with asbestos

At the end of the course the delegates will be given a short written assessment to ensure they have understood the main points of the course.
