Dignity Action Day 2023

Each year, Dignity Action Day is celebrated. In 2023, it was on 1 February. This day gives health and social care workers, as well as the public, an opportunity to recognize and uphold the right to dignity of people in care. It also reminds us to treat these people as individuals and to give them choice, control, and a sense of purpose in their lives. Furthermore, this day recognizes care staff and their right to dignity and respect.

Care homes hold fun events for this special day to celebrate all its employees do to promote dignity with those in their care. Examples include serving special Dignity Cakes, holding Digni-Teas, and organizing a dance.
