Health and Safety Law Poster
The HSE produces a poster and leaflet explaining employer and employee responsibilities for ensuring health and safety in the workplace, as well as what to do if there are concerns about health and safety. The Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations 1989 requires employers to either:
- Display the health and safety law poster in a prominent place where employees can read it easily or
- Give each employee an equivalent health and safety law leaflet
The poster and leaflet are available from the HSE website. Employers purchase the poster from the HSE. The leaflet is available to employers as a free download. Employers can also purchase the leaflet in packs of five. Other versions of the leaflet are available:
- An easy read version for employees with reading difficulties or where English isn’t their first language
- A large print version for employees with vision problems
Employers can also get pocket cards that are a version of the poster. Like the leaflet, the pocket card is easy for employees to carry with them. They are available from the HSE website as a free download or for purchase in packs of 25.
