Attendance of the Oro-Pharyngeal Suctioning Training Course will ensure the delegates are familiar with suction machines and catheters. Demonstrations using simulated practice form the practical part of the course, the theory of oro-pharyngeal suctioning will also be covered.
With more people living in the community receiving quasi-medical support, this course covers the theory behind the use of oro-pharyngeal suctioning which is sometimes not as thoroughly covered in shadowing circumstances.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
After this half day course staff will:
- Have a knowledge of the indications for oro-pharyngeal suctioning
- Be familiar with the action and care of a suction machine and catheters
- Understand the theory of oro-pharyngeal suctioning
- Have demonstrated the use of the equipment during a time of simulated practice
